Greetings Prince of Wales Families,

As we embark on our final week before the December Break, we are wishing all families a safe, warm, cozy week filled with time together learning, connecting and leading.

Thank you for everyone's support, care, thoughtfulness and patience with our staff over the past week. We appreciate you all more than you know and are grateful for our amazing Prince of Wales School Family.

Please remember, if you child requires any support with winter gear, we have many winter items available including coats, boots, hats, mitts and snow pants. Please reach out to admin, office staff or your child's teacher or EA for more information. We want to ensure everyone is warm and cozy this winter!

Breakfast club is open to all students! We are grateful to the large number of volunteers who arrive early in the morning to prepare hot, delicious and nutritious breakfasts for our students!!! (8:30 a.m.-9:10 a.m. Enter through the back Breakfast Program Door just around the corner from the Sherbrooke Parking Lot Doors. Ask a staff for directions!)

Pizza Day is Every Friday! Please make an effort to pay via school cash on line as this support our financial tracking and saves so much time for our volunteers tracking and counting and depositing cash. For families who are unable to access School Cash on Line, pizza can be purchased each week in Room 7 for $2.00 as slice. There is lots of yummy pizza available each week. Special thanks to Ms. Taitinger and the grade 7/8 students for all their hard work ordering, organizing and delivering the pizza each week!

We look forward to welcoming everyone back and we are eager to get back to learning and leading with you all!

Please take a few minutes to review the following so we are all ready for a a safe and successful return to school!

-Breakfast club starts at 8:30 a.m. If students are arriving at that time, they are expected to remain in breakfast club under the supervision of volunteers and staff.

-In order to thoroughly clean and tidy and get to class on time, serving ends at 9:10 a.m. If students are hoping to eat, please ensure they arrive in time to eat and so they and staff are not rushed.

-The Sherbrooke parking lot is closed 9:00-9:15 a.m. and 3:30-3:45 p.m. in order for students to safely pass through and for busses to safely enter and exit.

-Reminder: We are a nut and fragrance-free building.

-Parent/Guardian Contact Information: Please ensure all phone numbers, addresses, emails and contact names are updated as soon as they change. If you have moved recently and are unsure if Prince of Wales is still your home school, please check with our Head Secretary, Tracy Shaw.

-Winter is upon us! Please ensure your child is dressed warmly. Please do not hesitate to reach out to any staff in the case you would like support with winter gear for your child.

-Sharing concerns or questions: Please review with your child the importance of letting a staff member know right away if there are any concerns or if they have a worry or a question. Our students have really been doing an amazing job of seeking support from an adult right away and it has been very helpful!

-Attached is our School Handbook and Code of Conduct for everyone's reference and to review. We have noticed an amazing improvement in student respect and also their skills and commitment to resolve conflicts and restore relationships. Thank you to all our POW parents and guardians for all your support and hard work to model healthy relationships! We appreciate your support more than you know!

We are looking forward to the dynamic performance of Njacko Backo this week for grades K-4!
