Welcome

Welcome Message

Welcome to Prince of Wales Public School, home to students from JK to Grade 8 in both English and French Immersion programs!

At Prince of Wales Public School, we believe in the guiding principles of the KPRDSB Action Plan, specifically that LEARNING MATTERS, BELONGING MATTERS, AND RELATIONSHIPS MATTER. We see all students as capable learners while holding high expectations for them; we recognize and value all students as unique thinkers with diverse identities and lived experiences whose positive mental health and well-being is prioritized; and we build trusting and collaborative relationships with students, staff, families and community.

Through the combined efforts of students, families, school staff, and our community, we strive to maintain a positive school culture that supports the children's ongoing academic, physical and social growth.  At the core of our expectations for student behaviour is RESPECT and RESPONSIBILITY - towards self, school, and others.

Timely, open, and honest communication with families is of the utmost importance to us.  Student success and a positive school culture depend on it.  We encourage all partners to work together in as many ways as possible.  Please consider getting involved in school life at Prince of Wales Public School, it is a very special place to be.  Go for YOUR GOLD!

Best wishes,

Helen Thompson and Brad Conlin

Land Acknowledgement

LandAcknowledgement

We would like to respectfully acknowledge that the land on which we gather is the treaty and traditional territory of the Mississauga First Nations. We are grateful for our relationship with the First Nations of this territory, for their care for, and teachings about, the land, the water, and all our relations. As Treaty People we continue our journey to strengthen our understanding of our Treaty relationship and of how to move forward together in a good way. We acknowledge the contributions and accomplishments of all Indigenous people across Turtle Island, current and throughout history.
